James Nechleba

James Nechleba James Nechleba practices in the areas of education law and litigation. Prior to joining the firm, James acquired many years of experience practicing in multiple states in the areas of labor and employment law, bankruptcy, administrative litigation, business entity formation, transactional law, criminal defense, and industry regulation and compliance. James spent three years as a Hearing Officer for the Colorado Department of Revenue, adjudicating disputes between the Department’s various enforcement agencies and citizens. In that role, James sought to improve the legal community’s understanding of the administrative adjudication process by teaching continuing legal education classes (CLEs) for both attorneys and the presiding hearing officers. Presently, James responds to the general day-to-day needs of public schools, including in the areas of students with disabilities, student discipline, student civil rights, labor and employment matters, vendor relations, contract negotiations, governance, policy implementation and records requests. James also represents school district clients in a variety of litigation matters, including administrative proceedings under the IDEA.
